Hi Everyone!

The Orchid Show:

Our 2024 show is now in the history books, and it was a great event! We had the mostattendees EVER, over 445 including our many club members who came to the show to help out. Overall, we made a net profit from the show, so that’s a big bonus. Our vendors seemed very happy with their participation. We also got 21 NEW MEMBERS!

We had nearly 200 plants in our exhibit. We awarded 65 ribbons to these fine plants, and six trophies. The American Orchid Society also formally awarded four plants from our exhibit. Details on all of the awards and ribbons are elsewhere in this newsletter.

A HUGE thanks to all 58 of our members who volunteered your time in so many ways! I want to extend special thanks to some people who really went far out of their way to make our show such a success:

Cheryl Crilly and Bob East, for being our show co-chairs, locating the venue and managing so many details of the event, including food.

Marita Riesz, for organizing and managing all of our volunteers, and for designing and implementing our fantastic display.

Carol Siegel and Herb May, for designing our signs and putting them up all over town and taking them down after the show.

Now it’s time to rest a little bit, collect up the things we learned and could do better, and start planning our show for 2025!
