May 2020 Keiki
Good day everyone Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, I have decided that both the board meeting and regular society meeting for May and June meeting will be canceled. Jeff Rundell and I discussed this over the past couple of weeks and thought it best. I am not willing to jeopardize anybody’s health. We have had a few more deaths here in Hernando country. That tells me that the virus is still active here, and everywhere also. At this point there have been over 10,000 deaths in Florida. Hopefully this will be the last month that we have to cancel. We are looking forward to a July meeting. For now, our board of directors will have to remain the same. Our election process would normally be in the works, but we are going to have to put off nominations and elections for now. Hopefully this isn’t an inconvenience for anybody. But we are still working. The society will go on! Please stay tuned to Facebook and to your email regarding any programs that will be coming up for the rest of the year. Our next big event, the auction, our money maker, is going to be in October. Being at home during this quarantine gives us all time to look over our orchid collection and decide what we are going to donate. It’s a great time to divide plants and make ready for another successful auction.
In the meantime, happy growing, maintain all health precautions. Thank you Steve Mattana May 2020 Keiki
